چکیده

Reproductive efficiency is one of the most important factors influencing the economic success of a cowcalf operation. Bovine trichomoniasis, also known as trichomonosis, is a venereal disease caused by the protozoan Tritrichomonas foetus that negatively impacts a herd’s reproductive efficiency, thereby having a substantial economic impact on a cattle operation. This paper outlines the pathogenesis, prevalence, economic impact and diagnosis of trichomoniasis in cattle, as well as reviewing common guidelines for the prevention and control of trichomoniasis.
